How to do Butt Up Exercises for Trimming and Toning Abs
Basing on the name, you might think that this exercise will be for trimming and toning your glutes. This exercise is for building strength on your abdominal muscles as it is the major muscle group that you will use when you raise your glutes to the air.
Be sure to do your and warm-ups before doing this exercise. Place an exercise mat on the floor and position yourself as you would for a push up. The difference is that you will not balance your weight on your hands. Your forearms are placed flat on the ground with your elbows forming a 90? angle. Have a slight arch on your back with your glutes slightly raised. Legs should be straight and stationary as you balance your weight on your toes. This will be your starting position.
Exhale as you slowly raise your glutes up in the air with the use of your abdominal muscles. Your end point will be with your back and legs forming an inverted “V” on the floor. Maintain the straight line of your legs and do not fold your knee even for a slightinstance. Hold the contraction for a second and inhale as you go back down to starting position while still maintaining the contraction.
Repeat with the number of recommended reps and sets. When you go back to starting position, do not let your back or torso sag towards the ground. Remember to hold the slight upward arch of your back at the starting position with your abs still tense and contracted.
