How to Lose Weight and Gain Muscle Mass
The United States has the highest obesity rate out of any country in the world. Sometimes it is hard
to imagine how to lose weight and gain muscle mass. The best way to do so would probably be to maintain a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise.
Many people today want an easier way out of their weight issues, but in order to lose weight and keep it off one needs to build muscle mass. No matter what any of the commercials show on television, no diet pill or supplement will get you a set of abs or a firm bum. That is strictly the result of hard work, diet, and exercise. Strong lean muscles are gained when the muscles are put to work.
When muscles are worked, they burn fat in order to fuel them. This is a simple explanation as to why you burn fat as you exercise. Along with exercise, it is important to maintain a well balanced diet. In order to find out what such a diet consists of on a personal level one needs to find out what his or her own body needs.
These statistics can be found rather easily online or in a wide range of books on the subject. This sort of diet is not to be confused with a ‘fad’ diet though. Fad diets are designed to lose weight unhealthily quick. They often do not last and the weight is gained back shortly after the diet is over. It is not impossible to lose body fat and gain more muscle. It just may take a bit of effort.
A well balanced diet as well as frequent exercise is key in learning how to lose weight and gain muscle mass. With time and effort, anyone’s goals can be accomplished. This powerful combination will do way more than any pill or fad could ever do.

True. You can lose weight by doing exercises, not by having obscure diets.

The key is to find the correct range of calories to consume to support muscle growth, but not accumulate excess body fat. Too many people are following the old pro-bodybuilder’s method of bulking up, which includes adding excess fat, and then cutting up- losing the excess fat and some of the hard earned muscle mass. The average person does not need to use that method. Just watch what and how much you eat, and train properly. You can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time.

achieving fat loss and muscle gains IS possible with a strategic diet plan. i like to use calorie shifting and pairing high cal days with a HEAVY weight training workout; low calorie or fast days with a lactic-acid producing workout; and then throw in a few moderate calorie days…so that within the same week, I can achieve both fitness goals.
